WOODBRIDGE, New Jersey (WABC) --
At least seven people were injured in a fiery accident involving just as many vehicles on Route 440 in Woodbridge, New Jersey early Friday.
The accident happened shortly after 6:00 a.m. on southbound Route 440 near the I-287 split.
Southbound left and center lanes of Route 440 were closed north of New Jersey Turnpike/I-287 in Edison because of the accident. Expect major delays in the area and plan alternate routes, police said.
The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.
State police are investigating the accident.
